Trauma can continue affecting the body, relationships, sleep, emotions, and sense of safety long after the experience itself has passed. And sometimes these experiences overlap in ways that are difficult to separate.

Avenelle provides psychiatric evaluation and ongoing care for concerns including depression, anxiety disorders, panic symptoms, mood instability, trauma-related symptoms, PTSD, irritability, sleep disturbance, changes in motivation or energy, and co-occurring attention concerns.

We consider how symptoms affect your everyday life as well as factors that may be contributing to them.

Treatment isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Depending on your needs, care may include medication management, education about your symptoms, behavioral strategies, sleep and lifestyle considerations, coordination with psychotherapy, or referral for additional treatment when appropriate.

Medication can be helpful for many people, but it does not replace every other form of support. When therapy, trauma-focused treatment, substance-use treatment, medical evaluation, or another specialty service would strengthen your care, we may recommend incorporating it into the larger treatment plan.

Progress doesn’t always happen in a straight line. Mental health treatment often involves adjustment. We continue evaluating what’s helping, what isn’t, what has changed, and whether the treatment plan still fits where you are now.
